- Tie dye - use techniques from Gambia and across the world.
- Galimotos - learn how to make wire cars & other toys from across Africa.
- Rangoli - create traditional folk art patterns and designs as used in India.
- Whole world cake - a practical activity that investigates the origins of ingredients used in cake making
- Rights of the Child – activities to enable pupils to find out about their rights and responsibilities
Banana Trade KS3 & above – 2 hrs minimum for up to 40 pupils – large space needed. A fascinating simulation game exploring the banana trade chain in which Caribbean Banana farmers compete with multi-nationals for banana exports.
Story behind…choose one from…chocolate, bananas, footballs, clothes, tea, coffee. FS; KS1-4 – workshops 40 – 90 minutes. Suitable for whole day focus for school councils. Brings alive the people stories behind familiar everyday items.

Whole World Cake KS2 & above 2 hrs min. Practical cake making workshop to investigate the origins of ingredients. D&T skills include dis-assembly, tracing a product's origins, product design, taste-testing, food science, modifying recipes, and food production chains. Global issues include food miles, local trade, Fairtrade, trade chains. Small charge for materials.

The Fire Children Duration of workshop varies with Key Stage. A West African Creation story is used to explore child rights and the UN convention on the Rights of the Child. Pupils consider wants & needs & how child rights run parallel to the responsibilities your school promotes.

Passion for Fashion KS3 & above – Half day or whole day options for one group of pupils (good for D&T textiles). Pupils find out about the clothing industry and how they can swap to buying fair trade clothes. Practical design & make activity to bring in clothes to swap or revamp.

Costs:-
Classroom workshops are priced at £350 non-members / £300 GLADE members for a series of workshops lasting a day.
Half day classroom workshops are available at £250 non-members /£200 GLADE members.
INSET & training courses are available for whole school, curriculum focus or small groups, including Governors & HLTAs /TAs .
Whole day INSET run at your school £350 non-members / £300 GLADE members.
Twilight INSET is available at £150. Reductions are given for a series of 3 or more twilight INSET.
